History
As an early leader in the workplace environments, the company soon came to be known as Barclay Dean Interiors, and began to provide additional services and an expanded product line. Offering innovative products such as demountable partitions and trend setting furniture styles, Pella Wood windows, raised access flooring and drywall, Barclay Dean Interiors set the standard for innovative product selection, planning and customer service.
In 1983, Steelcase selected Barclay Dean Interiors as one of its premiere authorized dealers in the Seattle to Puget Sound area; a relationship that continues to grow to this day. In 1999, the company completed a corporate re-branding effort and selected BarclayDean as their official company name.
Due to company growth and projected future expansion, in 2001 the warehousing, installation and receiving teams moved to a facility in Kent. In March 2005, the Bellevue corporate office relocated its sales, design, administration, accounting and sales support staff to a 13,000 square foot office space in the Bellevue Downtown core. Currently, BarclayDean employs well over 100 full time team members between the Bellevue Showroom and Kent Operational Facilities.
True to our founder’s philosophy, BarclayDean continues to be committed to providing innovative furniture environments to our customers, and delivering uncompromising customer service. We have been honored to receive awards such as Firm of the Year (2004, 2006) by Executive Women International’s Seattle Chapter, and recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Washington, (2000). Barclay Dean was also honored to be recognized as a finalist for the Corporate Citizenship Award by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce (2004).
